The Wedding Party

Lesley Sachen - Maid of Honor, Best Friend

Lesley and I have been best friends for 17 years, and she is the sister I never had.  Lesley is one of the most confident people I have ever met.  She knows what she wants and goes after it.  I have always admired that about Lesley, and don't tell her often enough how much I look up to her.  When it comes to "telling it like it is" I can always count on Lesley for the truth, and that truth always comes with a sense of humor and a lot of love.

Lesley and I have taken several trips together, but perhaps the most memorable was our road trip through Austria and northern Italy.  In order to save money on our journey, we decided to try sleeping in our Volkswagen Golf rental.  The car was not nearly big enough for two people to stretch out in, yet alone sleep in, but we managed.  Lesley kept getting nervous that people in their houses posed some kind of danger to us.  The reality, of course, is that we were the sketchy ones sleeping in our car in some rural Austrian neighborhood.  Needless to say, we didn't get any rest, but we had a lot of fun.

It is an honor to have Lesley as my best friend, and I couldn't be more excited to have her standing next to me on my wedding day.

Shelley Cooper - Bridesmaid

Shelley is one of my best friends and was also my roommate for three years.  She is the best listener I have ever met and always gives great advice.  Shelley also has a great sense of humor, and I'll never forget the first time we really laughed together.  It was in the 6th grade, and Shelley was telling me about how she had been studying so hard for her Bat Mitzvah that when the family phone rang she accidentally answered it by saying, "Shalom."  That was all this 11-year old needed to hear to be rolling on the floor with laughter.  Since then Shelley and I have shared many laughs and many milestones together, and I am looking forward to her big day in August!

Leanna Leder - Bridesmaid

Of all my friends Leanna and I are perhaps the most alike.  Both of us have parents that grew up in the Jewish community on the west side of Denver, and for that reason we always just "got" eachother on a different level.  Leanna is fiercely loyal and never misses the chance to stand up for her friends.  I also appreciate Leanna because unlike some of our other friends (ahem Lesley and Shelley) who are always trying to "understand where people are coming from," Leanna will immediately take your side no matter what.  She can also keep an inside joke going for years without it ever getting old.  After having moved away for a few years during college, I could not be happier that Leanna decided to return to Colorado.  It was not the same here without her.

Joe Peters - Best Man

Joe and Andy met in 2004 when they were working on Bob Schaffer's U.S. Senate campaign.  To this day they can get so wonky talking about politics that they may as well be speaking another language.  They also lived as roommates for a few years, and Andy can honestly say that Joe is the messiest person he knows.

Brad Jones - Groomsman

Brad is truly one of a kind.  He is incredibly loyal and friends don't come less drama-free.  Brad's crude sense of humor and knack for telling shocking stories makes him an invaluable friend on a long bike ride.  Andy can also always count on Brad for honest advice and his incredible knowledge of ISDN lines.
